Furlough Benefits for Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union Members

Many civilian employees at Fort Bragg face up to 11 days of furlough in the 2013 fiscal year. Last week, Congress passed a Continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government through September 30. While the CR still included the sequestration cuts, Congress shifted $10.4 billion into the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) operations and maintenance accounts. This was done to give DoD some flexibility when applying the cuts.

The credit union industry has a history of standing by its members. In both good times and bad, credit unions consistently work to address the financial service needs of those in their communities. The challenges of sequestration are no different. Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union has a special program to assist those affected by the furlough. Anyone facing a financial challenge because of the furlough should talk with a representative of member services at Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union.
